What is the Academic Reader app?

The Academic Reader app allows you to read eBooks and Audiobooks that you purchase from a selection of academic publishers - and they use this app to fulfil digital books directly to you! You will require the app to read eBooks or Audiobooks purchased from those publishers, and you will log in on the app using the email you used at the checkout. By purchasing books straight from them, you support those publishers and their authors.

How do I log in to start reading my books?

When you purchase any eBooks or Audiobooks from the websites of participating publishers, you will receive instructions to download the Academic Reader app. All you need to do is log in using the same email address you used at the check out. You will receive a verification code to that email, and then you can log in and start reading or listening.

How can I buy more books?

You will always need to head straight to those participating publishers’ websites to buy digital books, and then as long as you use the same email at checkout, they will appear in your Academic Reader app account.

You can browse for more books within the Academic Reader app in the Discover section. This area will direct you back to the publishers’ websites to browse for titles you want to purchase and choose your preferred format.

How do I redeem a token?

If you’ve been given a token by a publisher who delivers digital titles through the Academic Reader app, you can enter the token on our redemption page, or from within the app itself.

Redeeming a token using the link above is easy. You just need to add your first and last name, your email address, then the token you’ve been given. You will then receive instructions to download the Academic Reader app and login using the email address you entered. Your book(s) will be ready and waiting in the app.

Redeeming a token from within the app is even easier. You just need to go to the More Menu > Redeem a token. Simply enter the token and find the book in 'My Books'.
